Özet
The harmony of the personality of the students with the chosen profession and the sector is important in terms of factors such as organizational commitment and job satisfaction. However, as students have different personality traits, the perceptions of career barriers about the professions they choose are different. Career barriers that they perceive should be determined and solutions for these barriers must be developed while continuing the associate degree education. In this context, this study tried to determine the effects of the A and B type personality traits of vocational students on career barrier perceptions. As data collection method the survey technique was used. The survey was designed as three parts. The first part of the questionnaire consisted of demographic and individual details of the students, the second part of the questionnaire consisted of a scale to determine students' A and B type of personality, and third part of the questionnaire consisted of a scale to determine student' career barriers. Statistical analyses such as frequency and percentage distribution, mean, standard deviation, correlation, and regression was used to analyse the obtained data and was interpreted according to the study. As a result of the study, it was aimed to determine the perceptions of career barriers of students according to their fields and therefore to reduce career planning outside the field and provide suggestions for contributing to the qualified workforce in the sector.
