We are grateful to Prof. Dr. Jean Meyer, President of the Technical University of Applied Sciences Würzburg-Schweinfurt (THWS), and Prof. Dr. Axel Bialek, Dean of THWS Business School for their support and encouragement for the Würzburg International Business Forum’s (WIBF) events and other activities.
This volume combines nine chapters written by twenty academics from six countries namely Germany, India, New Zealand, Nigeria, Russia and Turkey. We thank all the chapter authors for their contributions in this volume for their willingness and expertise.

Welcome to the inaugural edition of the “Doğuş University 2nd International Conference on English Language and Literature, 21st Century English Literature (DIDE 2024) Proceedings”. We are pleased to present this compilation showcasing the academic excellence and innovative research presented during the conference. As the editor of this proceedings, I am very grateful to all the esteemed scholars, researchers, and speakers who contributed their valuable insights and ideas to make this conference a resounding success. Their engagement in the field of English language and literature has enriched our understanding of the theme of 21st century English literature and illuminated the complexity of these profound feelings in literary works. In the following pages, you will find a variety of scholarly articles that address a wide range of issues surrounding 21st century English literature. This collection offers a comprehensive exploration of the century, allowing readers to gain new perspectives and engage in critical discussions. Our sincere thanks go to the conference organizing committee, whose careful planning and efforts made this event possible. 21. yüzyılda insanlık, doğal afetler, ekonomik krizler, siyasi belirsizlikler ve bunları takiben toplumsal travmalarla karşı karşıyadır. Bu krizler; yağmur, kuraklık, deprem gibi doğa olaylarının, ekonomik, politik, toplumsal dinamikler beraberinde alınmayan veya eksik alınan tedbirler sonucu afete dönüşmesi ve ardından afet yönetimi süreçlerinde tecrübe edilen eksikliklerle daha da belirgin hale gelmiştir. Doğuş Üniversitesi Sosyoloji Bölümü olarak, akademisyenler, STK’lar, politika yapıcılar ve kamuoyu arasında Türkiye ve dünyada meydana gelen bu karmaşık ve çok yönlü zorlukları ele almayı, yaşanan doğal afetler, toplumsal krizler ve bunların neden olduğu toplumsal travmalar konusunda diyalog ve iş birliğini teşvik etmeyi amaçlayarak bu yılki konferans temasını “Afetler, Krizler ve Toplumsal Travmalar” olarak belirledik. Afetler, krizler ve toplumsal travmalar, sadece doğal olaylardan kaynaklanan acil durumlarla sınırlı değil, aynı zamanda insan etkileşimleri, toplumsal yapılar ve kültürel dinamiklerle de bağlantılıdır.
5-6 Aralık 2024 tarihlerinde gerçekleştirdiğimiz konferans, katılımcılara geniş bir perspektif sunmayı hedeflemiş; afet ve toplumsal krizlerin sadece fiziki çevreyi değil, aynı zamanda toplumun kültürel dokusunu, ekonomiyi ve kültürel yapısını nasıl etkilediğini anlamak için bir araştırma ve tartışma platformu olmuştur. Alanında uzman araştırmacıların, akademisyenlerin, doktora ve yüksek lisans öğrencilerinin, STK’lardan
katılımcıların afetler, krizler ve toplumsal travmalar konusunda yürüttükleri tartışmalara, çalışmalara ve deneyim paylaşımlarına tanıklık etmiş ve ev sahipliği yapmış olmaktan büyük mutluluk duymaktayız.
Gerek çalışmalarıyla gerekse sorularıyla konferansımıza katkıda bulunan tüm konuşmacılara ve katılımcılara, ayrıca böyle bir konferansı organize etmemizi mümkün kılan Doğuş Üniversitesi’ne teşekkürlerimizi sunarız.
AN EFFICIENT METHOD FOR SOLVING FRACTIONAL INTEGRAL AND DIFFERENTIAL EQUATIONS OF BRATU TYPE

In this paper, the fractional integral and differential equations of Bratu type, which arise in many important physical phenomena, are investigated by an effective technique, Chebyshev Finite Difference Method with the help of fractional derivative in the concept of Caputo. The effect of the fractional derivative in the outcomes has great agreement with the nonlocality of the problem. The truncation and round off errors and convergence analyzes of the present method are also given. Numerical solutions of illustrative examples of the fractional integral and differential equations of Bratu type are given to highlight the validity and performance of the method. The results of the comparisons are very satisfied and show that the proposed technique is more effective and accurate than the other methods.
