The second order stochastic dominance (SSD) has become exceedingly popular in recent years, due to its ability to determine the dominance of one asset over another for all risk-averse investors without a strict requirement in asset distribution. In this study, 33 OECD country indexes and their enriched set of assets, which consists of some combinations of these indexes, are investigated and compared between 2007 and 2015 by utilizing pairwise SSD comparisons, with different data frequencies, such as daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly. This paper contributes to the literature in three points: Firstly, a serious portion of the best performing OECD countries has the lowest GDP (PPP) per capita level. Secondly, the SSD efficient set depends on data frequency. Thirdly, when the data frequency is lowered, the difference between two SSD pairwise efficiency tests decreases.

We give a complete description, provided with a mathematical proof, of the shape of the spectrum of the Hill operator with potential 4 cos2 x+4iV sin 2x, where V ∈ (0, ∞). We prove that the second critical point V2, after which the real parts of the first and second band disappear, is a number between 0.8884370025 and 0.8884370117. Moreover we prove that V2 is the degeneration point for the first periodic eigenvalue. Besides, we give a scheme by which one can find arbitrary precise value of the second critical point as well as the k-th critical points after which the real parts of the (2k −3)-th and (2k − 2)-th bands disappear, where k = 3, 4, ...

Tracking of command constant references is a tracking control problem of fundamental importance. This problem for linear time-varying delay systems in the presence of actuator failures is solved in this article. The linear time-varying delay system with actuator failures is modelled as a switched linear time-varying delay system by utilising switching systems theory and a suitable control scheme. The polytopic technique is employed in order to cope with the time-varying, delay-derivative term in case its absolute value might exceed one. On the grounds of the average dwell-time approach, a switching tracking control law that is immune to actuator failures is designed and the conditions are derived such that the output of the linear time-varying delay system tracks given constant command references. Two illustrative examples along with the respective numerical and simulation results are presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

Claims of universality for Moral Foundations Theory (MFT) require extensive cross-cultural validation. The present study aims to (1) develop Turkish versions of three instruments used to research MFT (MFQ, MFQL, MSQ); (2) assess the psychometric properties of the Turkish instruments; (3) test the assumptions of the theory against findings from the instruments in Turkish culture. Three independently translated versions of the MFQ were administered to three samples totaling 1432 respondents. Results were consistent across samples. Internal reliability was satisfactory. CFA indicated a best fit for a 5-factor solution despite low fit indices and high error coefficients. EFA yielded a 3-factor solution, which did not replicate the 2-factor Bindividualizing^ and Bbinding^ factors found in U.S. samples. CFA and EFA with the MSQ produced 2-factor solutions which also did not align with the individualizing-binding dichotomy. Meaningful relations between the moral foundations and scores on political orientation and religiosity supported the validity of the measures in Turkish culture.
